AYGUN is a specialist framing studio based in Angel, Islington, London.

All framing is made in-house, with a focus on bespoke and conservation-led framing, specialist mounting, museum glazing, object framing and display.

 

We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Framing Technician to join our team.

Framing Technician - Full-time

This role involves the preparation, mounting, fitting and finishing of a wide range of artworks, including works on paper, photography, canvas, textiles and three-dimensional objects.

 

We are looking for someone with strong experience in conservation framing, museum-standard mounting and professional art handling. The ideal candidate will be organised, methodical and confident working with delicate and valuable pieces, with a high level of care, precision and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Hinging and mounting works on paper, including Japanese tissue hinging

• Cutting and preparing mountboard, backing boards and other framing materials

• Fitting artwork, glazing and backing into frames

• Stretching and stitching canvas and textiles

• Mounting three-dimensional objects

• Assembling and finishing frames

• Handling artworks safely throughout the framing process

• Carrying out final quality checks for alignment, cleanliness and finish

• Organising and prioritising work to meet deadlines

• Maintaining a clean and efficient workspace and monitoring stock levels

• Supporting customer consultations when required

 

What we're looking for

• Strong knowledge of conservation materials and archival framing methods

• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach

• Good manual dexterity and confidence using workshop tools

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team

 

Working hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–5pm
